I'm creating two new Dea Vivente dolls - #2 and #3 (face mold "Taiga") that will be available for sale soon. Of course, they will take after their "sisters", at the same time they will differ someway, for I want to avoid exact copies and strive to make each doll unique. As for the mold name "Taiga", I'll tell you someday in future why it's called this way, all in good time, and now I'll show several "backstage" photos taken during casting the dolls' parts – one of the stages of creating a porcelain Dea Vivente doll. The technology of porcelain manufacture has already been covered enough by ceramist masters, thus here I'm not going deep into process details. To my mind, it will be more exciting to peek in my studio!
Some more "in-process" photos of casting can be look at my Flickr page, where the following reportage shots will be published.
Dea's "sisters" are on their way, slowly but surely. Soon I'll be glad to introduce two new members of Dea Vivente "family".

Gemma and new feet
Last time I was telling you about a new doll Gemma, and now I want to show you her assembled. Ta-dah! – Gemma is standing on her toes (a bit below about them):
I continue working on the doll, and little by little, I put my ideas into life. While working on the doll image, I often imitate it by putting different comprising elements to the doll, and take mock-up photos to be sure I’m moving in the right direction, and if it needs something else to add or change in the original idea. As a rule, this process really draws me in, and I can contemplate a future doll for a long time, re-creating the image from my head into reality, to fe
New face of Dea Vivente
I haven’t written anything here for a long time, but I continue working hard, and now I’ve made it a rule to take more ‘work-in-progress’ photos that I try to publish at least once a week or two. You can follow my updates using the line of thumbnails at the main page of Dea Vivente site, or at the galleries at Flickr and Facebook.
Half a year of my works has resulted in this portion of “dollmaker’s soup” – this is how I called this bowl while unloading the kiln after high firing. :-)
In the photo you can see that there are more parts than for one doll, and I have quite much news, but I wonR
